Terms of service

Lately helps you research buying decisions using public posts, reviews, videos and web pages. Features include buying Briefs, category shortlists, product comparisons, Deep Review, selected video summaries (“Catch Up”), saved questions, scheduled trackers and alerts. Some features require an account or Plus subscription. Features and request limits are described in the app.

Results use automated research and AI-assisted synthesis, and sometimes rule-based analysis. They are not independent product tests, a representative survey of all owners, or a guarantee that a reviewer owns a product. They may contain errors, omit context, be out of date, or rely on limited evidence. A sentiment percentage describes the evidence gathered, not every buyer. We may withhold a recommendation or offer external searches when evidence is insufficient.

Check original sources, product specifications, safety notices, prices, currency and stock with the relevant provider before acting. Lately does not sell the products it discusses or handle purchases from retailers. Research is general information, not financial, medical, legal or safety advice. You remain responsible for your decisions, subject to your non-excludable rights.

You must be at least 18 and legally able to enter a contract where you live. Basic research can be used without signing in; trackers and subscriptions require an account. Sign-in is through the identity providers offered in the app, currently Google. Other providers, such as Apple, may be offered when enabled.

Keep your provider account secure, give accurate information, and tell us promptly about suspected unauthorised access. You are responsible for activity you authorise through your account. Do not impersonate someone else, transfer access to bypass limits, or share credentials.

Marketing emails are optional. Only if you separately and expressly opt in, HelloNoon may email you Lately newsletters, promotional product updates, Plus offers and upgrade campaigns. Signing in with Google or another provider, accepting these terms, or continuing to use Lately does not by itself give marketing consent. Existing users are not automatically opted in by this update. Marketing consent is not required to create an account, use Lately or subscribe to Plus.

A separate, unchecked signup choice or in-app banner lets you request one email when Lately Plus is fully available. This Plus launch notification does not subscribe you to newsletters or ongoing marketing. You can withdraw this choice in Account at any time. A marketing unsubscribe link also withdraws any pending Plus launch notification.

You can withdraw marketing consent at any time by saving your account email preference, using the no-login unsubscribe link in any marketing email, or contacting support. Confirmed email-link and account withdrawals stop future marketing sends immediately. Support requests are honoured within five working days, or sooner where required by law. Unsubscribe links remain usable for at least 30 days after sending. Essential account, security and billing notices and tracker alerts you separately requested are not marketing subscriptions. Our Privacy policy explains the consent records we keep and how email providers process information.

Free accounts include standard research and one daily tracker, subject to usage limits. The currently advertised Plus price is $15/mo in Australian dollars. The amount, currency, billing interval and any applicable taxes shown at checkout govern your purchase; review them before paying. Payment is processed by Stripe, not by Lately storing your full card details.

Plus is a recurring monthly subscription charged in advance. By subscribing, you authorise the initial payment and recurring charges until cancellation. Limits still apply to research and expensive features; “unlimited trackers” does not mean unlimited research requests. Failed or overdue payments may result in Plus being suspended or downgraded.

Cancel through Account → Manage billing before your next renewal. The billing portal shows the effective cancellation date and remaining access. Signing out, removing trackers, or simply not using Lately does not cancel billing. If the portal is unavailable, contact us for help cancelling.

We do not automatically refund unused subscription time for a change of mind. Contact us about mistaken charges, service problems or refund requests so we can review them. This does not restrict any refund, cancellation, re-supply or compensation required by consumer law. We will give reasonable advance notice of material changes to a paid plan or renewal price, with an opportunity to cancel before a new price applies.

Submit only information you are entitled to use. Do not include passwords, payment details, confidential material, sensitive personal information, or someone else’s private information in a question or tracker tag. Research queries are not a private messaging service.

You retain rights you have in your inputs and give us permission to process, store and use them to provide the Service, including sending research text to our service providers. Product findings are temporary and are not retained in our database, caches, browser storage or application logs. Saved Briefs store your question, not the findings. Explicitly shared questions and comparison inputs are accessible to others. Opening a link does not run paid research automatically. Your account name and email are not displayed as the author, but shared question text is visible. Do not treat an unlisted link or a paid research feature as a confidential vault.

Public quotes, videos, trademarks and linked material remain subject to their owners’ rights. Linking to or quoting them does not imply endorsement, sponsorship or ownership. Subject to those rights, you may use the app for your own research and share its provided links. Our software, branding and original site material remain ours or our licensors’; no rights to third-party content or exclusive rights to AI-generated material are promised.

• Do not use the Service unlawfully, to harass people, infringe rights, or submit malicious content.
• Do not evade access controls, payment gates, source restrictions, daily limits or security measures.
• Do not overload the Service, run unauthorised bulk scraping or automation, or resell access without our written permission.
• Do not misrepresent a Lately result as verified fact, professional advice or an endorsement by a source.
• Do not store, compile, redistribute, resell or sublicense research results, or use them to train, evaluate or improve AI models or build a competing search service.
• Do not use research to infringe privacy or intellectual-property rights, enable unlawful discrimination, or bypass a provider’s restrictions.

Tell us about suspected vulnerabilities privately rather than accessing other people’s information or disrupting the Service. We may investigate misuse and take proportionate steps to protect users, providers and the Service.

Identity providers, Stripe, research sources, retailers and external search sites operate under their own terms and privacy policies. External exploration links open searches on those sites; we do not verify every result they return. Source availability, video captions, retailer listings and provider quotas can change independently of Lately. Web research uses Brave Search API. Plus Deep Review also queries the public Hacker News, GitHub and Polymarket APIs. Results remain subject to provider and source rights; no ownership or unrestricted reuse right is granted. Use of YouTube features is also subject to the YouTube Terms of Service. See the Google Privacy Policy for Google and YouTube’s handling of information.

Scheduled checks and email alerts are best-effort, not real-time monitoring or a guaranteed notification service. Checks may be delayed, skipped or limited by outages, insufficient evidence, provider restrictions, rate limits or spend controls. Email delivery can fail or be filtered. Do not rely on Lately for time-critical, financial or safety monitoring. Targets are absolute user-entered settings: a check may notify whenever any target matches, including on consecutive days. No prior result, price history or change detection is retained. Notifications contain no observed values or findings. A fresh run may differ from the matching check.

We may maintain, update or change the Service. Where practicable, we will give reasonable notice of a material reduction to paid functionality. If we discontinue a paid service, we will stop future renewal charges and address unused prepaid service consistently with applicable law. No particular uptime or service-level agreement is offered.

You may stop using Lately, cancel Plus, remove active trackers, or ask us to delete your account. Removing a tracker stops future checks and deletes its generic delivery notices. It does not cancel your subscription or erase separate account, billing or usage records. Account deletion is handled by contacting support and is separate from the billing controls above. We will help address any active subscription as part of a deletion request.

We may restrict or suspend access where reasonably necessary for security, unlawful activity, serious or repeated misuse, unpaid fees or legal requirements. Where appropriate we will explain the reason and give an opportunity to resolve it; urgent risks may require immediate action. You can contact us to ask for a review. Data handling after closure is explained in the Privacy policy.

The Service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis to the extent permitted by law. We do not promise error-free research, completeness, uninterrupted availability or a particular buying outcome. To the extent lawful, we exclude implied warranties and liability for indirect or consequential loss arising from reliance on results or use of the Service.

These exclusions do not apply to liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited, and do not remove our obligations to provide services with due care and skill. Australian consumers have non-excludable guarantees and may be entitled to cancellation, a refund, re-supply or compensation when those guarantees are not met. These rights prevail over any inconsistent wording here.

These terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia. The courts of Queensland have non-exclusive jurisdiction. This does not prevent you from relying on mandatory consumer protections or bringing a claim before a court or tribunal available to you under applicable law. Please contact us first so we can try to resolve a concern; this is not a condition on exercising your legal rights.

We may update these terms as the Service or legal requirements change. We will update the date above and give reasonable notice of material changes through the Service or your account email. Changes apply prospectively and do not remove accrued rights. If you disagree with a material change, you may stop using the Service and cancel your subscription before renewal. If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to the extent lawful.
